GREECE PLATANOS to GYTHIEO DAY 272 360km.

Crossed over the Peninsula over the mountains to Nafplion also on the coast and had some fruit salad breakfast at the harbour. A real neat little town  with the usual castle on the mountain and in the ocean. Also stopped off at an Amphitheater built in 4th century BC, seen enough of those now, am done with ruins.

    NAFPLION
LEONIDIO
Then continued on the coast road to Leonidio which is slightly inland with huge orange rock cliff faces to the one side, tiny town but the tourists are out and about.

MONEMVASIO
Then headed to Monemvasio for about two hours over some tight mountain passes which were most enjoyable but slow going. Got there and then there is like a huge chunk of mountain in the ocean which is some old castle/ fortress, so walked around and checked it out, lots of tourists.

GYTHIO
Still had plenty of daylight left so went on to Gythio to a campsite. Along the way I came across  the Dimitros wreck. The campsite is so small, no water faucet, garbage cans or a light pole, just a little piece of dirt to pitch your tent on. ($22)

Tomorrow will head to Kalamata for breakfast and then North towards Albania along the west side best I can and see how far I get.
