GREECE - NERAIDOCHORI. DAY 271 562km.

Was treated to a regional traditional breakfast,  consisting of  sheep's milk, what and Fetta cheese soup, with beef pies and custard tar, bouled egg and bread. Wouldn't ask for seconds but was interesting and breakfast and dinner can be the same disc.

The first two hours riding south through the mountains was a pleasure, had some dirt roads through the forest, was nice and cool up high but as I dropped down the temperatures rose. Really enjoy riding in the mountains where there is nobody around, especially in the forested areas.

Followed a secondary road to Patra, but had a puncture along the way. Luck plays a big part and I have been lucky many times. I had just passed a gas station and felt something odd with my front ture and like an idiot didn't stop there and then. Took another kilometre before I stopped and saw I had a flat, so turned around and went back to the gas station where they thankfully fix punctures. Had that happened yesterdayout in the boonies I would have battled to fix it in that terrain. I believe luck plays a big part in life, certainly has for me.

Continued on to Patra and then to the Corinth Canal, 97km south. When I crossed at the bridge where the bridge actually goes underwater and allows the ships through, I had to wait and saw a yacht go by and there was a ship in front of it which I missed. Anyhow they raised the bridge and off I went down the coast to Kalloni where I found a room ($ 30) . I will be leaving here at sunrise.

Crossingthe bridge into Patra, and no toll today !

  CORINTH CANAL.
OCTOPUS FOR DINNER.
