When the asphalt ended the fun began. I have never been on such a knarly narrow rocky road for 48km. It was challenging in some areas where it was just all rocks on a climb with a sprinkling of loose rocks that I tried to navigate around, it was quite a work out for me and was pleased I didn't drop her, came close but throttled out to save the day. I think it took about two hours for the 48km, but was incredible scenery through the high mountains and valleys and rivers.
A chap I met who was back up for three cyclists who were plotting a route through three countries for cyclists told me to head up the serpentine road up to Montenegro, so I did. Was I glad I did, it went on for hours all up to the border crossing, snaked it's way up and down through the valley and hardly any vehicles around. What a memorable ride it has been today.
However I did spoil it by continuing on to Podgorica and arriving in a thunderstorm at 8pm, like thirteen hours on the bike and only had three cappucianos and a yogurt all day.
Once I set a goal in my thick skull, I tend to stick with it and that doesn't always work out to good.
