At breakfast it was drizzling and with no rain gear, thanks to my wife for not parking it in, I resided to the fact that I would have to wait it out and spend another night. But at 10am the skies cleared and I packed up and hit the road to Cappadocia.
Stopped in Divrigi for some coffee and to warm up and then continued on with having intermittent drizzle off and on all day. Found a hostel with a private room in Geróme, which is where you want to be, very touristy.
DAY 152 13-5-23 KAYMAKLI
Rode down to Kaymakli underground city, which there are many in the area. It is an amazing what they excavated to eight stories underground where thousands of people lives built back in 300BC. Took about forty five minutes to walk and crawl through it, they even had a winery, after a few glasses I don't know how you would find your way home.
On a backroad on the way back to Ürgüp I saw two motorcycles in front of me and it was the Frenchies, we rode out of Baghdad together and never expected to see them again. So they followed me to the hostel and then another two French kids who I met at the hostel came past us and the turned around and chased after me and we all had a big reunion on the side of the road.
DAY 153+27 = 180 DAYS= 6 MONTHS ON MOTHER'S DAY. 14 MAY 2023
I hiked Love Valley with the Fenchies which takes 3.5 hours where you walk down in the valley with all the phalic looking rocks to the Castle on the hill.
LOVE VALLEY WITH THE CASTLE ROCK ON THE LEFT IN THE DISTANCE.
Fancois, Claudia and I had our last meal together as they head for France now. The other guys are all scattered over, some in Armenia and the others in east side of Turkey, so unlikely we are are going to meet up again, but it was a lot of fun hanging out with all the guys over the last couple of months and crazy how we kept on meeting in different countries.
