ERDEMLI - TURKISH COAST 15-5-23 485km 11hrs.

Got up early to see the balloons over Geröme from the rooftop terrace which was rather impressive.

I decided to try the TET route again but the first section I got up high and there was snow so backtracked and shipped that part and got back on it a short distance later. It was asphalt up the mountain the hit the dirt at Camalaylala and was one track and went up to 8500ft on many switchbacks and then had some snow and had to abort the mission. Had some pretty good views of the mountains from there, didn't  want to risk a snow crossing being alone and nobody travelling up there, although I did think of it unfortunately,  and for once made a good decision. I came down on a different road which dropped 5000 ft into the gorge and was rather an interesting ride down.

I then stopped in town for a cup of tea oand the locals were very welcoming and came over and sat with me. Very few people speak English in Turkey so google translate is the way to go. Left there at 4pm and dropped down to the coast and stayed in Erdemli in a $12 hotel and put my bike inside the hotel for the night.

DAY 155   ALANYA   285 km.

The coastal road is very scenic as it winds it's way west through many tunnels and many parts where it hugs the coast of the Meditteranean and then climbs up to 1500ft and then down to the coast again.
Got to Alanya early and had my oil changed and then went to the beach and had a refreshing swim amongst all the Russian tourists.
