Was kinda cold leaving early this morning, first time I have felt winter creeping in and with the trees changing colour and a lot more leaves on the ground, only means one thing, I gotta get my ass in gear because the snow is coming.
Got to Lake Blad which was not worth the excursion and continued on the road that kind of runs parallel with the Austrian border to Vrsic Pass which was quit a climb and then you turn off and head up Mangrat Pass which is one helluva climb,12% grade for 13 kms, and at the top which is 6000 ft was the most amazing panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and luckily it was a beautiful clear day.
You have to go down the same way to the highway 203 and then stopped in Bovec for some soup and a Cuppuciano, prices here are a lot more than Croatia.
Then followed the 202 all the way down south which is a lovely road to ride on a bike and very scenic all the way down for almost 110 kms. Got to my room in Prestranek, was basic but very cleanand orderly and then went into town and had the best chicken skewers ever (€17) . Was a long day but making progress, everyday I get closer to home, some days not so much. Lookingforward to getting home but don't want to think about it to much, have to stay in the moment.
