Made it to Haifa in an hour as there was hardly any traffic on the road and on Saturday there is no public transport, everone is chilling and nobody works. Stopped at a viewpoint overlooking Haifa and then continued up the coast. Enroute another biker signaled to me to follow him to Akko where he showed me around the ancient port town and then had some lunch and desert.
Kobi then decided he would show me the way Yiron. We headed to Rosh Hanikra which is on the border of Lebannon on the Meditteranean Sea. Then the road hugs the border heading east with some nice view points overlooking Lebannon. He then took me to the Kibbutz and they left for home and invited me to come stay at his place and tomorrow would continue to take me around.
I met with Doron who showed and explained to me the inner workings of the Kibbutz and took me on a little field excursion and the border with Lebannon runs rigjt up to the Kibbutz.
I then went to the neighbouring Yiron Kibbutz where I met Guy who had an apartment for me arranged by Brian. He kindly invited me over for dinner with the family which turned out to be an enjoyable evening.
GUY AND HIS KIDS.
DAY 132 23-4-23 TO SEA OF GALILEE
Had breakfast withe guy and left at 9am and Kobe came up and took me around again, riding along the border on some dirt roads U would never have found. Visited an Arabic village that was in Lebannon but is now part of Israel and rode up Mt. Heron and visited a few battle sites and memorials and the Kobe had to leave at 1pm for Tel Aviv and I continued on to The Sea of Galilee. Visited the the lake which is 580 feet below sea level where Jesus walked on water and then headed to Kobe's house ninety minutes down south. Had a lovely home cooked meal on the deck overlooking the Israe Valley with the roar of fighter jets circling around low doing some kind of maneuvers.
