DAY 7 FISH RIVER CANYON,ROADHOUSE CAMP to NAMBIT CAMP ON D707 398km.

Roads to Nambit : C12, B4 ,D432, D431,C14, D425, C13, D707.

    Roadhouse campsite.

First night camping, a little cold but survived, used my silk sheet liner which helped and the Sea to Summit pillow which is the best blow up around and folds to the size of my big toe.
My neighbor ,Adrian, who has a Landcruiser all kitted out invited me over for some coffee and an hour later and two delicious cups of Nescafe and a bunch of BS about bikes and exploring Africa, I packed up and left at 10am.
The breeze always seems to be in my face, the scenery was basically flat for half the day and the last 150km it perked up with some nice passes and red hills and red sand roads. The camp Nambit is on a farm 14km in with only five sites, of which three were taken. Nambit's web page stated they had a restaurant, but when I asked the guy he said not for the campers and I have no food and little water.

Pitched my tent and and the wind started to pick up, so filled it with my gear and it still blew of the tarp and bent over the top half.
The French neighbor came over and I moved the tent into the communal semi enclosed structure where they were cooking over a fire.  The Frenchies offered me some potatoes off the braai and a sip of wine..

    Spectacular campsite setting. NAMBIT.

The wind grew even stronger and gusted all night, there was no way I would have slept a wink if I had have stayed at my campsite.

Not so spectacular but no wind.
