DUBAI DAY 98 -103 20- 25 MARCH 23.

 Al AIN   DAY 98

Debra and Gavin, two Saffas hosted me in Al Ain. Left the hotel and all tof us went our seperate ways. I went down to the Camel Market and then on to the Saffas. Was warmly welcomed with a cold beer and an amazing wholesome dinner. Had a great evening chatting in their overland vehicle.

DAY 99  21-3-23.    194km

After two cuppucianos with Debra I took off for Dubai and went to Touratech where I got some new brake pads and the bike washed and a phone holder put on, ended up spending all day there. Then went to Andreas's house at Mira Villa, I met him riding in Oman and he said to stop by.

DAy 100    22-3-23   ABU DHABI     335km.

Rode up to see the Mosque and the Louvre.

    The carpet was hand woven 5 400sq.m. 

    and weighs 35 tons.

DAY 101    23-3-23     DUBAI VISTAS

    THE ONE AND ONLY HOTEL .

    Andreas took me around town and we stopped here for a Cuppuciano. Then we went to the Dubai Mall to watch the ligjt show and had dinner. 

DAY 102    24-3-23   JEBEL JAIS   360km.

I rode up to the tallest mountain in UAE, I was mistaken about the other one I mentioned at Al Ain.

DAY 103     25-3-23   RIDE THE OMAN DONUT  343km.

Andreas left for Oman and I was able to ride with some locals to Oman that is almost a circle piece of land in UAE and then in the middle of that is UAE again, it's crazy but check it out on a map. So Oman has three different areas of land that don't  ajoin each other. So was a fun ride , gravel through Oman into UAE ,back into Oman and then back into UAE  and back to Dubai by noon.

I went to the Spice Souk and to the Burj Khalifa for another show and then back to Andres' house . I will depart tomorrow  for Qatar. 

INTO UNITED ARAB EMIRATES. DAY 97. 19 MARCH 2023

After a nice third night camping we all packed up, Martin made me some coffee  and got goiug at 8 am. Had some beautiful scenery along the way on a dirt road and then asphalt to the border. Topped of our petrol tanks to try spend our last Rials but I still have OR 20, gas is so cheap here only put in Rials 3.

The border crossing was quick and easy, got carnet soerted in Oman and stamped out.

The UAE side was very efficient, did an eye scan, got stamped in, showed vehicle registration, went into office to do carnet but you don't  need it here. We sat down and had coffee with the officers for ten minutes, and then departed. No fees or TIP to enter and Visa is free, so that was nice.

Martin had booked a hotel for us and Mark was joining us for the night and share a room. ( $30 each ) The  Mercure Hotel sits on the highest montain in UAE and is right at the border in Al Ain withe a twisty road to the top at just over 1200 metres. It is not to shabby and has beer and a good greasy burger which we devoured overlloking the city below in their lovely dining room.
